Miami

So we made it – just!

The turbulence was quite something and even the (too) honest flight attendant said it was the ‘worst she has had for a long time’
Once reassured by the captain that it would only go on for another hour, I was obviously fearing the worst. My only hope was that I could see land on the tv screen and this clearly meant that if we did feel the need to land on the sea, we would be saved by a local ship rather than being eaten by a shark.

Anywho, after that minor heart attack, Ryan and I celebrated survival with a strong g&t and landed an hour ahead of schedule.

Dan our chauffeur greeted us with prosecco at the airport and after a couple of drinks at the apartment we got a good nights sleep ready for our first Miami day!

Day 1 –

It seemed we had brought the English weather with us and so it was an unusually cold day for Miami. Today was mainly about eating and drinking so whilst exploring south beach and the art deco district we stopped for cocktails, beers, numerous games of pool, an intense darts competition and ended the night with sushi samba – Delish!

Playing detectives in the early hours, we thought a mouse was trying to join us in the apartment. After being on watch for what seemed like forever, we came to the realisation that it was probably the ice machine! Thank goodness!

Day 2 –

Cuban brunch with our ten second Tom waiter started our 2nd day of eating and drinking. A ginger juice to sooth my sore throat in hand, we took the car over the bridge to downtown Miami and had a look around.

Hooters was the boys 1st choice for beers and as we had little say in the matter, we were dragged along to look at the skinny minis in their hot pants! Fun!

Off to chill at the apartment now before an Italian dinner and drinks.

It’s thanksgiving tomorrow and we are off to the beach to swim whatever the weather and have an absolute feast !

R & E xx
